Cocktails

NDU by Kamsi Brown

Pairing with Jameson for International Women’s Day 2023, Kasmi looked to Mother Earth for inspiration for her cocktail and so the NDU was cultivated. What a beautiful tribute to the woman that gives us all life. A floral cocktail, picked from nature.

“ I call this cocktail “NDU” Which means “LIFE” in the Nigerian “IGBO” dialects. My carefully selected NDU recipes accentuates perfectly well with the flavour profile of the Jameson Black Barrel Whiskey. Bringing balance to the fruity, nutty and vanilla notes found in the Jameson black barrel taste.”

Kamsi Brown

My name is Kamsi Brown, I am a Head Bartender/Mixologist at NO:19 Bar & Restaurant, Accra Ghana. I started my Career in the Hospitality industry back in 2013 where I worked as a waitress before i decided to go deeper into the industry I moved behind the bar back in 2019 and I have been learning and growing in the foraged Botanical mixing in Africa till date.

If there’s one thing Nigerian Kamsi Brown and Jameson have in common, they see whiskey and life are closely linked. The NDU cocktail (meaning ‘Life’ in her native Igbo) uses west-African botanicals that she forages for locally, to balance the sweet, fruity, vanilla notes of Jameson Black Barrel.
