Irish Mule Cocktail

Irish Mule

Try an Irish twist on this much-loved, refreshing classic cocktail. An Irish mule substitutes whiskey for the vodka in a Moscow mule. This version calls for Jameson Original, giving the Irish mule spicy, nutty, and vanilla flavors to play off the ginger and lime. We love drinking this sweet cocktail over lots of ice. It’s the perfect way to enjoy a summer day, a breezy evening, or a fun night in.

Making a Great Irish Mule

Mules are ginger cocktails usually served over tons of ice in a signature copper mug. With the Irish mule, Irish Whiskey and ginger come together once again to create this refreshing cocktail.

If you don’t have ginger syrup handy, it’s easy to make. In a saucepan over medium heat, stir together 1 part sugar, 1 part fresh ginger, and 2 parts water. Once the sugar dissolves, increase the heat slightly, and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Strain into an empty bottle or jar and refrigerate until cold.
